Equine Influenza
The Black Isle Show Committee would like to make exhibitors, competitors and visitors aware that there have recently been confirmed cases of Equine Influenza (Flu) in parts of Ross-shire.
The welfare of every horse and pony attending our show is extremely important to us. We are not making Equine Influenza vaccination a compulsory requirement for entries. However, we ask everyone to exercise good judgement and put the health of all attending horses first.
If your horse or pony is unwell, or displaying symptoms that could indicate Equine Influenza — such as coughing, a runny nose, raised temperature or unusual tiredness — we respectfully ask that you keep them at home, consult your local vet and do not travel to the show.
By taking these simple precautions, we can all help reduce the risk of disease transmission and protect the wider equestrian community.
As the situation continues to develop, we will keep our guidance under review. Should any changes be necessary before the show, they will be communicated promptly by contacting entrants; posting on social media, and on our website.
